Letzte Tag

Samstag, 18 Mai

Ate this cake in Esterhazy park since they were out of Esterhazy cake:

Viennese rump cake? Chocolate.

Lunch at Le Bol with lovely Viola. Croque Monsieur.

"Einspaenner." Close enough?

Supposedly the best ice cream place in town.

That's goat cheese and pear flavored. With a streak of raspberry.

And we ate and lounged here by the Donau Canal. Mmm, hmmm.

Oh yes. Both with goat cheese.
Later we head over to the Altedonau, the older more stream like portion:

The other side of the Donau has some modern buildings.

Goodbye Otto Wagner U-Bahn station!

Goodbye Schoenbruenn!

Gloriette.

Auf Wiedersehen!
Hazelnuss.

Lower Belvedere Goodbyes

Freitag, 17 Mai

Met a professor at a local brewery, because that's how one meets someone in Wien:

Topfenstruedel

Cute spot, ja?

Said goodbye to the Belvedere
Saw the Lower Belvedere's collection finally:

Hey Prince Eugene.

Last outdoor opera Live am Platz. La Traviata:

Kirche am Steinhof und letze Musikverin

Donnerstag, 16 Mai

Started off the day right by baking some oatmeal cookies:

Found Otto Wagner's Kaiser Pavilion

Otto Wagner's Kirche am Steinhof

The Kirche is surrounded  by a lovely park.

Later, saw this on my way to the Musikverin:

Hey, whatcha lookin' at?

My view from the organ balcony

View sitting. The music floated up most exquisitely.

Augustinerkeller and Grinzing

Mittwoch, 15 Mai

Finally went to a Heuriger, hidden in the Augustinerkeller:
I got the Gruener, under the second heading. A Viennese specialty.

Inca and me

Grabbed a bite to eat at Ronacher:

Then wandered Wien:

Staadtsoper

The big "shadow" person in the Uni Wien courtyard.
Then I head to Grinzing, where Beethoven house hopped:

I was walking along and stumbled upon this narrow staircase squeezed between 2 buildings.

Kahlenberg in the distance.

Beethoven's church.

I think the Ivy may have one.
